Aquest nadals he afrontat un repte DIY. El meu nebodet Pau
va demanar al tió una disfressa de gegant. I us preguntareu, com és una
disfressa de gegant? Ajaaaa! Fàcil; el Pau diu que un gegant és un cavaller amb timbal. Com
que ja tenia un precedent de disfressa de cavaller que vaig fer pel seu germà
Jan, vaig posar de seguida fil a l’agulla...
NOTA: Perdoneu la qualitat de les fotos però era de nit i no tenia llum bona i no em quedàven més dies abans de la entrega del regal.
Materials
- · 1,5 – 2 mts de tela de lli o qualsevol altre d’èstil rústic
- · Feltre de color a conjunt amb la tela
- · Busqueu un motiu per l’escut o dibuixeu-lo a la mida que el volgueu per posar al davant de la cassaca
- · Beta de color que combini amb la roba de la cassaca per fer llaçades laterals.
1.- Preneu les mides del nen/a:
- De colze a colze amb els braços doblegats: aquesta és l’amplada de la disfressa. És una amplada generosa, comptant que hi ha inclosa la vora lateral i que la disfressa és farà servir més enllà d’un any
- De l’espatlla al genoll: Aquesta mida multiplicada per dos és la llargada. És una llargada generosa, comptant que hi ha inclosa la vora i que la disfressa és farà servir més enllà d’un any; de manera que si posteriorment queda més curta no passa res i queda estéticament correcta.
- Del perimetre craneal per fer un forat a la peça de roba per passar-hi el cap.
2.- Talleu la peça de roba i feu-ne les vores laterals i de
llargada i quan feu la vora lateral ja podeu afegir-hi les betes per lligar.
3.- Mesureu el mig de la peça (si voleu la podeu doblegar
dues vegades) i feu un forat per passar el cap segons les mides preses
4.- Dibuixeu l’escut en un paper i passeu al dibuix al
feltre. Retalleu el feltre i apliqueu-lo a la peça de roba a la part frontal.
5.- Feu un coll de feltre al voltant del coll de la cassaca
per dins i per fora; i cosiu-lo de manera que el coll quedi ben reforçat.

Christmas I faced a DIY challenge . My nephew Pau asked for a “giant” costume. You may ask yourself , how is a “giant”
costume ? Ajaaaa ! Easy , is a knight costume with a drum (according to him). In Catalonia we
refer to Giant often associated as “Gegant del Pi” (catalan mythology). As I
had already some experience with a knight costume as long as I already made one
for his brother Jan , I immediately started working on it ...
NOTE: Sorry for the pictures quality but it was dark and had horrible light and I had no more days left before delivery of the gift.
Materials
• 1.5 to 2
meters of linen or other rustic fabric
• Felt
color set with fabric
• Find an
appropiate motive for shield or draw it to the size you want to put on the
front of the surcoat
• Fabric
ribbon to match the surcoat clothes as for lateral loops.
1 . - The measurements of the child:
- From shoulder to shoulder with arms folded : This is the width of the costume . It is a generous width, including the side seam and thinking of using it for more than a year.
- Shoulder to knee : The size is the length multiplied by two . It is a generous length , including seams allowances and thinking of using it for more than a year, so if it becomes shorter it is still aesthetically correct .
- Cranial perimeter to make a hole or V in the garment for his/her head.
2 . Cut the
fabric and stich seam edges. If possible stich also the laces attached to
lateral edges.
3 . -
Measure the middle of the piece ( if you want you can bend it twice ) and then
a make a hole or V for the head according to measures of cranial perimeter.
4 . - Draw
on paper a shield, cut it and draw it on the felt. Cut the felt and apply it to
the garment at the front.
5 . - Make
a felted collar around the neck of the surcoat inside and out , and sew it attached,
so the neck is well reinforced.
